Ramapo Dental is wonderful. I have been coming here since I was a kid and now I take my kids (34 years in all). I live in Brookyn. And travel 1.5 hours to get here!!! Lonnie and Denise are wonderful hygienists, thorough, funny and warm — it’s hard for them to clean my teeth when I’m laughing so much. The front desk staff are always warm and friendly and make sure I make it to my appointments, even when I have to make schedule changes because of the long distance. Dr. Gusmano is the kindest and gentlest dentist. He has helped me make necessary choices about my complicated dental care that have always been the right ones. I only have wonderful things to same about this wonderful place and the family of staff that inhabit is walls. I feel like family too, with a beautiful smile!!!!

Why this isn’t your average Dental Practice… Growing up I had some pretty miserable experiences at the dentist, from shoddy work to work that didn’t need to be performed. I never liked going to the dentist, but over time it got worse and worse until it got to the point where my anxiety prevented me from going. My Mom knew I had not been to the dentist in years and when she found Rampo Dental she knew she had to convince me to try them. She worked on me and over time she finally got me to make an appointment… that was 15 years ago and in that time the Doctors, Hygienists, Dental Assistants and the office staff have completely turned around my opinion of Dentistry. My dentist is Dr Gusmano and he is truly amazing for many reasons, first of all his skills as a dentist are top notch and in addition to that he really understands that some people get anxious and need to take a break for a minute. You never feel “trapped” in his chair. My hygienist is Carol and she is never allowed to retire, I love her! She is so warm and friendly and good at her job that the time flies by. When I leave there my teeth feel so clean and look great that I wish I could go more often than every 6 months. I would certainly be remiss if I didn’t mention Robin who is often the first smiling face you see when you walk through the door. – If you’re lucky you find one or two good people among a bunch, what’s amazing about this office is that they are all terrific! I rarely write reviews but when it comes to my dentist I tell anyone and everyone that will listen that they are the best!!!

My visits to Ramapo Dental Care are always excellent, and this was no exception. Not that I like going to the dentist, but Carol does an excellent job of cleaning my teeth. I am very fussy about this, never having had a cavity but being told long ago that improper dental hygiene could nevertheless cause the loss of my teeth. Carol is friendly and efficient, and I trust her judgment completely. Dr. Chichetti checked out my mouth, and I’m now good to go for another six months. Everyone in the office is friendly and knows me by name, and I’m very pleased to have been referred to this office after moving nearby 11 years ago.

I have been going to Ramapo Dental Care since I moved here in 2005, and I’ve been very happy with the care I’ve received. They never try to force treatments on me, preferring instead to look at my health as a whole. For instance, I have had numerous skin cancers on my face but never a cavity. X-rays are never pushed, but I am always asked. Our joint decision has been to skip them for now, and I am grateful for this. My teeth can be sensitive, and I prefer a manual cleaning. My request has always been accommodated, although this is a more difficult procedure for the hygienist to perform. Once, I noticed my tongue was thicker on one side, appearing to be some sort of growth. I was seen by my dentist the next morning, whereupon he told me it was perfectly normal and had always been there. The next piece of good news was that I was not charged for the visit. What a great place to go!
